Joy to the World and a Marshmellow TREAT!

Isn’t he delightful?! This was my Mr.Frosty made of: * hat – oreo cookie half + mini-reece cup * eyes and buttons – big round sprinkles (Target) * mouth – sprinkles * nose – you’ll never believe this…but dried cheese…it’s called improvision people! * arms/sticks – pretzels (stick pretzels would be better, but I need the […]

My boys (16 and 13 years old)looked at me like I had three heads when I asked them if they wanted to make chocolate dipped marshmellows with me. They are all about the eating part but want nothing to do with the preparing part of making food. So I solicited my adorable 7 year old nephew who excitedly made the treats with me! Thanks for the recipe:)

Loved the cute little marshmellow idea. I will have to try this with my kids.

I just found your blog a few weeks back. We live in the Atlanta area as well and would love to meet up sometime. We brought our daughter home from Ethiopia back in January (almost a year ago, the time really does fly). I look forward to watching your adoption journey as well. It is a beautiful thing.

The good, the bad, the ugly…

OK…so I’m keepin’ it real today. And you’re getting a slice of real life…the good, the bad, the ugly—and just because that’s only 1 positive and 2 negatives…we’re adding “the cute” to that too. The good, the bad, the ugly…and the cute in the Young house:) The Good  CHRISTMAS CARDS! There is nothing I love […]

This goes along with my post from yesterday 🙂 I love that I am able to blog as a creative outlet. I am blessed to be home with my kids…but all of that takes a backseat to the true importance in my life…my family. Thanks for sharing friend.

I love the bulletin board. So cute.
Blessings,
Amy

Fantastic idea. You sure seem like a natural teacher at heart. Are you sure you don't homeschool your kids. I could totally see you doing it. You are creative.

The Siler Family - December 10, 2009 - 4:23 am

Too cute! I was beginning to think you were perfect! Thanks for sharing.

Andrea, you are a remarkable momma ! I feel blest that our paths have been woven by the Jesse Tree. Sister and I keep praying that during the days of waiting for your son- you and your family know that others are lifting you in prayer for the timing to be perfect…God is in complete control and He will not let that sweet "babe of your Heart"wait too long to be in your ams…he is already in ya'lls hearts ! Your ministry is powerful…helping others with family ideas and life is amazing…May the Peace of Jesus be with all of you !

[…] I’m always thinking of different ways to display our Christmas cards. Last year–we did this (it was completely FULL by Christmas and it was even hard to take down because we just LOVED seeing […]

God’s purpose for us is greater than we could ever imagine!

In my procrastination to finish up the last few sessions I have to edit to finish up my photography business (for those of you who don’t know I have a photography business www.georgialane.com), I have been dreaming. It’s something I do often especially during our adoption wait:). What is our REAL purpose? What is God’s […]

Once again I am so blessed by your thoughts. Thank you so much for sharing.

We have been doing our Jesse tree with the kids and I noticed in so many passages we have read, that the persons response is "here am I Lord". We need to do the same. Use me in any way you see fit.

God has us where we are for a purpose…

We received out new waitlist number last week in perfect timing (from 28 to 26). I had been discouraged earlier in the week realizing that I was standing in a line—what felt like a long line—while there were and are approximately 145,000,000 orphans in the world. To me, the line waiting didn’t (and doesn’t) always […]

Yay! Steal away Emily!!! Isn't that the MOST fun! We bought numbers to go on the stairs of our basement too. So fun. I love hearing little voices count the numbers as they go up:). So sweet! Those are 4" in height. Just FYI as you scout out the etsy number sellers. I may go find the girl I bought from and I can send ya the link if you need it!

V - December 7, 2009 - 1:04 pm

love the steps!

crispy - December 7, 2009 - 2:55 pm

For starters…you can get an AMEN. God doesn't show up a day late. He is more concerned about timing than TIME. His timing is perfect. Your child isn't ready yet and so the wait on the list is until the child He has chosen for your family is ready.

And…I think I may just need those numbers. I LOVE THEM. Cute !!!

Kimberly - December 7, 2009 - 3:37 pm

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you ready your e-mail??? I can't wait to hear what beautiful words pour forth….we could just use the above post!!!! LOVE it and LOVE the numbers!!!!

Jenny - December 7, 2009 - 5:36 pm

Oh man… you make me want stairs now!! those numbers are just the CUTEST things ever!
