Adoption Timeline {Isaac}

Our Timeline Bringing Home our son Isaac…

September 2, 2009 – Mailed in application to AGCI

September 11, 2009 – 1st Home Study Interview with AAA

September 14, 2009 – Accepted to Ethiopia Program

September 15, 2009 – Fingerprints, Background checks and 911 history received from city–all clear!

September 18, 2009 – 2nd Home Study Interview with AAA (Andrea’s Interview)

September 21, 2009 – Orientation Call with AGCI

September 25, 2009 – 3rd Home Study Interview w/ AAA (Richard’s Interview)

September 30, 2009 – Andrea’s Adoption physical

October 6, 2009 – FBI fingerprint clearance received

October 10, 2009 – Finished Online Adoption Courses (12 credit hours)

October 13, 2009 – Richard’s physical and labwork + Andrea’s labwork AND Power of Attorney authenicated and certified

October 19, 2009 – Final Home Study Interview (Family interview and home walk through)

October 26, 2009 – Dossier completed and ready to go! Waiting on home study to be written!

October 29, 2009 – First draft completed of home study and emailed to AGCI

November 5, 2009 – Home study approved by AGCI

November 10, 2009 – Mailed in dossier and notoarized home study

November 13, 2009 – WAITLISTED! YAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY! (Waitlisted on a Friday but our numbers will come on Monday!) We made this to share our numbers!

November 16, 2009 – #28 on boys list / #45 on girls list

December 3, 2009 – #26 on boys list / #40 on girls list

January 1, 2010 – Sent off I600A to USCIS

January 8, 2010 – #24 on boys list / #34 on girls list

February 5, 2010 – Biometric fingerprints done at USCIS (Now we wait for approval from USCIS and our 171 returned! Pray it comes before we get to #1 on the referral list!)

February 5, 2010 – #19 on boys list / #30 on girls list

March 8, 2010 – #16 on boys list / #26 on girls list

March 10, 2010 – Change in Ethiopia Program (2 trips will now be required – one after referral where we’ll have to come home without our child; one for embassey/visa appointment & bring home our child)

April 7, 2010 – Would be #11 on boys list….BUT…Received SURPRISE referral for our Isaac!!! He’s 8 months old and 10 pounds…lots of unknowns but we serve the Lord of unknowns…and we are trusting Him with our Isaac! Read our referral post here.

April 12, 2010 – Received USCIS FDL approval!!! (THANK YOU LORD!) Our file is open with Ethiopian court and we’ll only travel once.

May 13, 2010 – Our court date – Did not pass:(. Isaac’s birth mom was too sick to travel due to malaria. We are praying for her healing.

May 24, 2010 – Our 2nd court date – WE PASSED! Isaac is legally and officially OUR SON!

June 25, 2010 – Fly to Ethiopia!!!

June 27, 2010 – IN OUR ARMS!

June 28, 2010 – Embassy Appointment

July 2, 2010 – Arrive home…and the sweetest airport union EVER!
