We saw the Lord again provide today for us—and tomorrow morning Isaac’s packet will be FedExed to our agency for final acceptance! Our agency already sent our FDL to the US Embassey in […]

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 God has planned for Isaac to be in your family even before you were a family. His plans are right and true. God will be glorified through this entire process because you are following His will. Love to you and your family. We are praying for your BEAUTIFUL boy.

This was really touching ๐Ÿ™‚ I think it instills gratefulness in our children to have to wait for something they want.

Dawn - April 11, 2010 - 11:39 pm

What – Excited? For what- he he he- just kidding.
Have faith in your children- they will understand. When we have asked our kids to make sacrifices for each other or another new child- they now jump at the opportunity. Especially when we tell them- why. They know it is much better for our family to expand or deal with what we have – than to have stuff. Talk about an opportunity to share with them….about storing up treasures in heaven! AMEN!

Have I mentioned how excited we are for you all??? WE ARE!!!! I am soooo happy and praying for you all as you prepare to bring home a wonderful present from GOD! YEAH!! Makes my heart happy just thinking about it!

Gini - April 12, 2010 - 12:35 am

Love hearing about your journey and all of the steps in the process–even the sacrifices that are so worth it! ๐Ÿ™‚

missy - April 12, 2010 - 1:12 am

i’m so blessed every time i read one of your posts. i love the story of his name…both the one chosen by you and the one chosen by his ethiopian family. it is obvious how you THANK GOD for him and how god is using your adoption not only in your family’s life, but in many others as you let us into the way you are seeking Him in the process.

Jenny - April 12, 2010 - 8:23 am

Andrea, I needed this post today more than I can express. Your perspective is such a breath of fresh air to me. In a culture where people don’t always have to sacrifice much to fulfill their “wants”, it is so refining when the Lord stretches us to sacrifice for a human life. We have been allowing ourselves to give into the “how will we pay for this adoption” fears(even though the LORD completely provided for our last adoption) and I needed this reminder today. Can’t wait to see what the Lord does today at CIS. Much love and prayers!!!

Elle J - April 12, 2010 - 2:30 pm

Another post, another learning. Happy Monday full of Blessings, Andrea!!

A time to worship…

I just love to see God working…and I continue to be encouraged. So today—I’m sitting by the mailbox…wishing and hoping and planning and praying that our FDL would just show up randomly today by Mr.Postman. NO it did not. (We are ok…because we know when Rich goes to the office on Monday we are going […]

Sarah - April 8, 2010 - 5:07 pm

Andrea, I am new to your blog and new to adoption. The experience you have described here is what is in my heart. We just started down this road, but the sense of urgency to get started RIGHT NOW is an outstanding feature. My daily prayer it that we would stay on God’s timetable, whether we get our baby sooner OR later. We just want the child He has chosen.

I will be praying for you in these next months. May the Lord Jesus continue to grace you each step until you bring your Isaac home.

PS. I love the story of Isaac in the bible. What an appropriate name!

Marci - April 8, 2010 - 5:17 pm

This post has me in TEARS! I am remembering the day we got Eliza’s picture. The whole family, including eight month old Shipley, gathered in front of the HUGE television and we opened the e-mail together. We cried at how beautiful and perfect she was. Still to this day, I feel 100% she was meant to be in our family.
Congratulations and love to all of you!

CRYING…SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!! I cannot wait to hear more! What a beautiful story….Praise the Lord! My little brothe has special needs (lots, BIG ones!) My mom has openly told the other 4 of us that if she could just coose one child (obiously crazy and she never would!), she would choose him, Stephen. She said you cannot comprehend the love of Christ until you have a special needs child. A beautiful, perhaps at times heartbreaking, journey awaits you all. Guess you are gonna be heading to Africa after all this summer, huh ๐Ÿ™‚ Praising the Lord for you tonight!

Vanessa - April 8, 2010 - 9:38 pm

Praising God with you today friend!!! I’m so excited for you all and your new little boy. What a beautiful story!

Hugs to you!!

Troy - April 8, 2010 - 10:18 pm

That’s an amazing God story, Andrea … CONGRATULATIONS!

LORD Jesus, we thank you for baby Isaac and Your provision in his life already. We thank you for bringing him into this family. Lord, I pray for Isaac’s health, Lord, that you would surround his body and protect him … allow his body to process the formula and get the nutrients it so dearly needs. Jesus, I pray for His heart … that you would start the bonding forming in it so that when they meet him SOON, the attachment will be so strong from day 1! Lord, bring him home soon! I know you have amazing things planned for his life.

It’s in Your Name that we pray and believe

Amen!

Kim - April 8, 2010 - 10:32 pm

On Andrea! I am flooded with tears and praising God for you today precious friend. I am so excited for you and your precious family. God worked the same way with such recognizable timing (in the rear view mirror) with the twins adoption. Every date (despite the seemingly endless delays) ultimately revealed His perfect timing. I love all the details that lead to Isaac’s referral call and how His plans were for you and Richard to enjoy this moment together. Just. The. Two. Of. You.
Thank you sweet friend for allowing us to sit front row and witness His mighty works!
We are all blessed by your testimony!
Love & Blessings from Hong Kong,

I can’t wait to read the rest of your story… about God’s faithfulness, and His provision. I’ll be praying for you and all the details that are to come!

Praying, Praying, Praying! Ours took about 3 months to get back and I think we were about #10 on the list when we got it. When I talked with AGCI about worrying about its whereabouts they said not to stress until we were in the top 5 and then they have some ways of speeding up the process. My biggest concern was that fingerprints wouldn’t go through.

I will definitely keep praying for you guys and this! I would call your congressman’s office – that was one of the options to get it processed quicker.

Tiffini - April 3, 2010 - 11:35 am

Andrea, I am praying. When we received our referral, we had not even been fingerprinted yet! I am going to e-mail you with some specifics, but I wanted to tell you that we got our FDL TWO WEEKS after fingerprinting!!! Our God can do anything that HE purposes to do.
