Discovery of a Continent…January 13 (Genesis 36 and 1 Chr.1:35-2:2

Yesterday I received the SWEETEST thing in my mailbox from a photographer in Asheville, North Carolina. I can’t believe I’ve never met this sweet family in person because we have so much in common and have kept up with each other for a couple of years now through photography—our hearts connected when we discovered we […]

Love the book! I will have to look that one up! Also look up Tsion’s Life! Great book! Ab really enjoyed showing me things about his life in it.

Charisa…trying her best to focus on Jesus…but sometimes I feel like I need the horse eye cover things so I can’t see to the left or the right!

Ok girls, I’m reading along, but I was wondering which translation you guys are using, there are a lot of reading lists for different translations, and I was just curious if you all decided to use one particular one? If so can you let me know? I’m just now figuring out that you guys are discussing here! I love to study the Word with sisters in Christ!

Aww, you are so welcome! I think this dude is adopted too…I might be wrong. Did you see the other little thing that was in there? I forgot to wrap it so it might have gotten lost at the bottom of the package.
I CANNOT wait to meet you one day soon. I feel like I’ve known you for years. 😉

admin - January 13, 2010 - 9:14 pm

ASHER! You have to tell me what I missed in that package! I’m so not beyond diggin’ through some trash to find a treasure! And I can’t stand the thought of tossin’ a treasure. You just tell me what this momma is lookin’ for and I’ll put on rubber gloves;)

And Kim—we all are reading different versions I’m sure. We didn’t pick one…I’m pack and forth between NIV and Living.

Transracial adoption…”there’s nothing about this face that isn’t MOM”

*Be sure to turn music down/off at the bottom of the page before watching. A great video on transracial adoption.

LOVE THIS! I will have to post this sometime!

Kim J - January 12, 2010 - 2:24 pm

Okay Andrea! Not that it is AT ALL about me or AT ALL about you but isn’t it nice to know at some point down this beautiful road we just might be a bit “cooler” in the eyes of our little ET’s babes! I’m good with that.

Andrea - January 12, 2010 - 3:11 pm

LOVED THIS too! This kid…he’s just precious isn’t he! And I have to say…I think he’s cooler because of it too. I LOVE the advice HE gave! VERY good and important to be around other families that LOOK like yours, other kids that look like him, and to have other kids in the neighborhood with diversity too. Great info here!

Rebecca - January 13, 2010 - 5:16 pm

I like this!

Tiffany - January 20, 2010 - 8:44 pm

Andrea, I have recently met your sister through our kids’ school and some other things we have in common. She directed me to your blog because we are also adopting from Ethiopia. We have three bio kids (girl, boy, girl) and are leaving to bring home our baby boy on February 5! Love this post…oh – if I could be like this mom when my precious baby is grown. Wow. Love your blog!

As you pray about growing your family…

The last couple of days/weeks, emails have begun to trickle in with general questions about adoption. How thankful I am to see and hear that God is stirring hearts to bring little ones home to a forever family!!! I remember in the beginning for us–we felt like adopting was something that had always been something […]

Thank you for your encouragement, Andrea! It was fun to "meet" you over the phone the other day. 🙂

What’s next…(update on today)

Our workbook was reviewed by AGCI today, and we’re good to go! Next step. As soon as we get notarized copies of our home study from AAA Adoption Partners next week we can mail in our notarized home study, dossier and dossier payment. AAA is in Dawsonville, so I called them today and gave them my […]

3 Blessings - November 6, 2009 - 8:14 pm

That is good news.

We found out there was one problem with one form in our dossier. Luckily it was one that I had to type and notarize, so I will have a new one notarized and overnighted tomorrow. Kiersten said that we will be given a number as soon as she receives the new form, so that means that we should have a number by Monday or Tuesday. All in God's timing 🙂

I just know we are going to be traveling together.
Blessings,
Amy

I'm excited to watch your journey. Ours had a lot of complications and actually took 3 years, but it was worth every second!! God already knows who your child is and will do whatever is necessary to bring him/her to you!

Amy - November 6, 2009 - 9:50 pm

Yay! Very good news indeed. Can't wait to see some wait list numbers for you 🙂
