Easter weekend fun…

Just a few things we did this weekend… Lamb cupcakes for kids dessert… {Soooo…easy and fun for them to make! A large center marshmellow in the center covered in white icing helps the little marshmellows stick. Add pink jelly beans for the ears, chocolate for the hooves and black icing for the eyes and mouth. […]

That garden bed is so AWESOME!!! Definitely going to look into that! We don’t have time for a huge garden anymore but LOVE having the fresh veggies and goodies! That looks sooo cool!

And what a joyous blessing to have a friend that was baptized and is sharing his testimony with EVERYONE! What an example to the rest of us! 🙂 Glad you had a fabulous weekend. Need to e-mail and catch up! ♥ God Bless!

Easter Garland…and cultivating waiting on God {Deut.10,11,12}

CRAFT TIME!!! OK…here’s your craft inspiration for the week…Easter Garland… OK…just had to make that image BIG…because I LOVE THAT PICTURE of one of our Zambian girlies! The garland doesn’t touch her cuteness…BUT if you want to make the egg garland… 1. Create holes in both ends of an egg using a sharp object (I […]

Reading about your browsing through that store made me tear up – only because I’ve so been there! I feel the same. That overall I’m doing great, but I have my days where that’s all I can think about! And I feel guilty as my Lil Man is running around playing so patiently without me as I’m browsing blogs and bawling reading about mommies finally holding their sweet ones in their arms after their long wait. It can be. So. Hard. I hear ya.

ohhh girl…i need to tell my sister about that egg craft…she has little ones that I think would like doing it! Your seriously so crafty and creative! Love all your ideas! :0)

Amy @ Filled With Praise - March 16, 2010 - 8:57 am

Andrea, I love the craft. So cute. I also feel your longing for Issac. You know I can relate. I feel like I am Elijah’s Mommy, so I should have him now. I don’t even know what he looks like, smells like or feels like, but I know I am his and he is mine. One day…some day…hopefully soon.
Blessings,
Amy

Wish I could give you a big warm hug and sit down with you and have coffee and chat. That would distract your waiting heart. 😉 My 6 yr old reminded me of his favorite song this morning. Our God is an AWESOME God! He reigns from heaven above, with wisdom, power and love our God is an AWESOME God. Always lean on Him and you will find the comfort you need. Hugs today! ♥

P.S. If I ever get to your house I’m stealing that big ‘ole picture over your fireplace!!!! It’s to die for!!! ♥♥♥♥

Jennifer - March 16, 2010 - 10:08 am

Great post! Yes, this waiting journey is full of ups and downs. I posted about my down and back up journey last Friday:-) I also did a Wiphan shout out yesterday. Blessings!

Love the craft but the portrait over the fireplace is beyond FABULOUS! WOW!
I know the ups, downs and distractions of the WAIT.
And I also know that God is working mightily behind the scenes!
Love & Blessings from Hong Kong,
Kim

Yes, I’m still here. You described how I feel, only I have no little ones to help distract me at home. I wish I did. 🙁 BUT I do have work, hubby, church, & all the little ones there to help. Sometimes it’s hard though when I’m home alone & the house is too quiet with nothing to do but think…….. Thanks for this encouragement.

A Clean Craft;) – Peppermint Soap by Parker and Laney {& Numbers 30, 31}

Want a quick and SUPER EASY craft to do with your precious ones?! I tossed just 3 things in my cart at a recent run to…yes–you guessed it–Hobby Lobby for this craft! You know I can’t stay away;). We did this AFTER dinner and before our Lent Tree Devotional—and the KIDS actually did this!!! (Yes, […]

That’s my kind of craft. Wonder if there is a Hobby Lobby in Hong Kong?

I eyeballed the soap crafts last time I was there, but never bought it thinking it too much of a pain. But after seeing your easy ‘how-to’ I think I’ll pick me up some Easter crafts! 😉 My son would love doing this too. I make a trip to the big city tomorrow so I’ll have to make a point to hit the Hobby! Since it’s a 4-hour round trip we don’t get out often! LOL And I’m lovin’ my new boy! His face is just beautiful. I’ve told lots of friends and family that our family is growing!

Shannon - March 10, 2010 - 12:11 pm

yay for 5 more kids sponsered!! I did a marathon reading yesterday and caught up….feels good and I’m so thankful for this reading. My womens’ bible study is doing Matthew and it’s so nice to be getting fresh perspective on the old testament to help with the historical/cultural stuff while reading the new. Congratulations on the new numbers too!

Dawn - March 10, 2010 - 2:52 pm

We love making soap- great gift, and pretty easy too. There are soo many molds scents 7 colors 🙂 LOVE your passion that you share through your blog! We love Hobby Lobby too!

An Easter craft…The Light of the World

Make the most of every opportunity…even in your crafts, let the Light of the World shine on your precious children… Because Easter is about new life—the resurrection of our Savior—I use eggs to teach my teeny ones about dying to our old selves and new life in Christ. And because He IS the Light of […]

The old may new…Patch work jeans! (& Numbers 7:1-89 )

My oldest was out of school today for President’s Day…and it seems each week he has broken in ANOTHER pair of jeans…if you have a boy you know what I mean. Without fail, Parker-man seems to get a hole in the same knee after just a few weeks of wear. With a little brother below […]

Sooo cute!!

Jackie - February 15, 2010 - 5:03 pm

You are SO crafty! That was awesome! My boys are older, so I don’t think they would sport the patched look…. I wish they were younger… I had a ton of jeans I could have patched!

Jennifer - February 15, 2010 - 5:20 pm

Great idea! I had to start buying all my son’s jeans at Sears when he was young. They have a deal where if a child wears out a pair of jeans b/f he grows out of them, they will replace the jeans with holes!

admin - February 15, 2010 - 5:29 pm

Jackie…maybe you could do the same thing with “cooler” things like…Spiderman maybe??? Maybe appliques for older ones are uncool no matter what you do!

Jennifer…Ooooo…wonder if Sears still does that!

julie@Flitterbugs - February 15, 2010 - 5:29 pm

You know what also works great, and is easier to work with than WonderUnder? Heat and Bond lite! LOVE this stuff. You can get it at Wal Mart….it comes in packs in the notions section. You can also get Heat and Bond Heavy….which you can just iron and not have to sew as well. I am addicted to this stuff 🙂

Megan - February 15, 2010 - 6:41 pm

Cute project! I’ve got to admit I’m really dragging my feet on our reading today. I keep telling myself it will be worth it, I’m just not in the mood to read, haha!

Mitzi - February 15, 2010 - 8:18 pm

SHUT UP…I love these!!! Where did you get the argyle and stripe fabric?

Andrea - February 15, 2010 - 10:27 pm

The fabric is all from Hobby Lobby:)

Heather - February 15, 2010 - 10:47 pm

Just a quick question. Unless I missed it, I didn’t see a gift/offering from Joseph’s tribe. I looked through it again & didn’t see his name. Vs. 54 says “the children of Manasseh”. Unless I’m reading something wrong, Manasseh wasn’t one of Jacob’s/Israel’s children, the twelve tribes. Anyone have any insight, or did I miss something? Thanks!

Andrea - February 16, 2010 - 12:01 am

Heather–Ephraim and Manesseh (Gen.48:5-6) where Jacob’s two sons and they stood in the place for Joseph and Reuben. Reuben lost his place for defiling Jacob’s bed (Gen.49:3-4). Here is a link with the tribe explanation:
