Wanted: People to spread the word! (Impact the world by what you wear!)

In yesterday’s post, I was able to share what the Lord has been doing through Wiphan Care Ministries. One of the coolest thing about Wiphan to me is—is that we are a grassroots ministry…just 3 years old…but the Lord has blessed us greatly through other believers joining us. For the first couple of years, in many ways we were treading water, learning from trial and error and just doing the best we could with little experience. But O HOW THE LORD SHINED! And continues to! Wiphan is run in Zambia by local Zambians, but it is supported by locals in the Atlanta area. We would love nothing more for it to SPREAD BEYOND ATLANTA! Because guess what? If we spread BEYOND Atlanta—we can eventually spread beyond Zambia! You in?

First—Check out Wiphan. See what we’re about. We’d love to grow. We’d love for you to help us.

Second—HOW? From the very beginning we have trust the LORD to raise up the people He wants to use to impact the world through Wiphan. And you know our faithful Father has been faithful. Will you consider helping us spread the word—so others can learn about Wiphan (WIdows + orPHANs = Wiphan). We are in need of monthly sponsors, child sponsorships, yearly donors and local representatives to be a voice to share Wiphan with others. It can start REALLY simply. By just learning about Wiphan—wearing a T-shirt and when people ask…direct them to our website! (Being a representative has never been so easy has it?!) One of my bestfriends in the whole wide world runs our website—I’d love to get a call from her that lots of people bought the t-shirt today! We just got new navy ones! AND ones for kids too!!! Buy yours here.

Third—Pray about sponsoring a child! We have just 10 kids left on the site…but we’ll be putting up a new grade SOON. I bet my sister April who facilitates this will put more kids up if those 10 are sponsored this weekend!!! Many of the children on our sponsorship site are “older children”. Maybe you aren’t called to actually adopt an older child—but what about sponsor one? Here’s just one face of many of our children…VeronicaHer name is Veronica. Her mom is a widow with 6 children. Veronica attends Wiphan school, and she wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Her favorite color is orange—and she loves chickens and cows:). AND if you sponsor her (or one of our other children this weekend) you can send her a letter with pictures of your family and my hubby will take them over when he leaves in a few weeks to go see her and our other 450 orphans who attend our schools.

AND FINALLY—please pray for us. Pray that the Lord will continue to bless this ministry! Pray that God will give our Zambian staff discernment and wisdom in caring for the many orphans and widows that attend our program. Pray that the Lord will raise up COUNTLESS others to JOIN US! Pray that those He calls will be obedient to follow—and that we will keep our eyes set on Him. Pray that He would give us willing hearts to live sacrificiously.

And feel free to copy and paste our cool t-shirt on your blog too (you can copy it from the RSS feed or from Wiphans website). And direct others to Wiphan to buy it. And in that process—spread the word—and impact the orphans and widows of Ndola, Zambia with just a small sacrifice like this one. Remember from yesterday’s reading—the Lord wants our obedience over sacrifice. If you don’t feel led to join us, please just pray for us. We covet your prayers. But if you do feel led to join us, spread the word on your blog or by buying a t-shirt or by supporting a child…WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOUR HANDS AND FEET TO SERVE.

Serve one another. Help one another. Love one another. Why does it feel SO good to do His work?! AMEN! Thank you for praying for Wiphan! OK, I’d LOVE to have Addie call me and tell me people are buying t-shirts!!! Let’s knock her socks off because I know she’s busy and not reading my blog this weekend! .DSC_6162DISCLAIMER: ANDREA YOUNG AND WIPHAN CARE TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THOSE WHOSE HEARTS ARE CHANGED BECAUSE OF THEIR INVOLVEMENT WITH WIPHAN CARE MINISTRIES. We’re going to order shirts for the whole family soon. Thank you for sharing about this ministry. I am really hoping that we can get involved with you. This speaks very deeply to my heart’s desire to bless both the widow and the orphan and to keep kids with their families if at all possible. I am very excited to learn more and to see what we can do. It inspires me what you have accomplished in such a short time by simple obedience and faith! I am hoping to share this ministry with our church as well.
