To the FINISH! (The Warthog Waddle – Part 1)

Well…if there’s one boy I’m proud of today–it’s the little trouper who refused a ride in a stroller and RAN the ENTIRE race! He was the sweeper for race day…but the cheers from the crowd as he came made this momma so proud!

SERIOUSLY?! What 2 year old has this kind of determination?! He woke up this morning saying, “Frank race!” And that he did!!! So proud of you Frank!

A special thanks to Frank’s sponsors…he wants to thank each of you personally–and we have a little drawing later for a special something for one of his sponsors;). AND we drew for the fun book give-away that I meant to post Wednesday too…so will do that tomorrow too!

Frank ran RIGHT to the big finish and he was so excited to get his medal…

We weren’t sure how many of the 500 racers who signed up to run would actually show…and granted we probably lose some walk up registrants…BUT I did have a lump in my throat seeing ALL the people who CARE ABOUT ORPHANS AND WIDOWS IN ZAMBIA and who dispite the weather came out and RAN!!! Thanks all of you who came out to race–and thank you also to those of you who registered but opted to stay home (your donation to run will help Wiphan greatly!) Here’s just a sneak peak of this morning’s turn out!

Of course I was SO PROUD of all the kiddo runners out there. They were all EXCITED to run…and they had so much fun!!!
Here’s Laney-bug with some of her cousins Emma and Isabelle…

And Parker with his crew before take off…That’s Luke in the brown next to him…he is my bestfriend Kelly’s little boy and they’ve been buds since they were babies!!!

Parker ran a hard race and was one of the first in his age group to come in…so proud of you P!

More fun details tomorrow!!! And video too! Here’s to a successful Warthog Waddle!!! Christy, Amy and Addie…and all the volunteers–you did an amazing job putting this together for Wiphan!

Tomorrow we have Mission Marketplace at our church…so we’re excited to share Wiphan tomorrow and what the Lord is doing among the orphans and widows in Zambia! Hope you all are staying dry and having a great weekend!

I get chills looking at the pictures of Frank running for me and everyone else that could not attend but would have enjoyed to. I especially loved seeing the room filled with so many people loving Wiphan – makes me smile thinking how great for my sweet girl and all of her friends who are being loved and cared for by so many!! Great work, Andrea and Team! xoxo

I absolutely LOVE reading your blog! I have been friends with the Bowen’s for many years and love the work of WIPHAN. I can’t even remember how I linked to your blog, but it was a joy to read your about your “journey to Isaac!” I’m so proud of Frankie baby for running the entire race! Thanks again for your blog. God uses your words to encourage and challenge me. And….I LOVE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY!! I realized after finding your blog that you were friends with Addie. I love the pics you have done of her family! Blessings!!
