Retreat breakouts and info…

WHEW!!! You know if I ever skip a few days blogging…it’s because I’m busy as a bee–and that I have been!!! I’ve been not only chasing my 4 littles 6 and under—but also packaging tee-shirts to fundraise for the retreat (other than the hotel the adoption moms coming only had to pay $100 for the ENTIRE weekend!) SO…it’s required some fundraising on this end and lots of coordination to pull it all off! We STILL have about 3 more breakouts to tell you about…and from now to the retreat we will be featuring some of our breakout session and main session leaders so you can get a sneak peak at what is to come for the 250 women attending!

FIRST–as you know…we tweaked the name from Created TO Care…to Created FOR Care. We we not only created to care for others…for our family, our children, orphans and others…but we were ALSO created to be cared FOR. And this is what the retreat’s purpose REALLY is: To connect adoption moms to one another and encourage them into a deeper connection with Christ—to see how they are CARED FOR and created to be cared for by their Creator and by His provision in one another.

SECOND–our verse and how it ties in with our logo. THE SPARROWS. If you are a blog reader of mine and have followed our journey–then you might remember how God has encouraged me and spoken to my heart through reminding me of His provision and purpose through this small creation of His. Just for your entertainment…He seems to put these little guys in my path when He is trying to teach me…that the broken need healing…and each of us matter deeply to Him (remember the little bird outside OfficeMax?) OR do you remember the bird that was waiting for us out side the pulmonologist that day…when I was so weary…and the song he sang??? I felt God just reminding me that HE would be my strength in this journey. Or the old hymn…how His eye is even on the sparrow…so I know He is watching and caring for me. And I couldn’t help but smile when I saw the verse laid on my heart written in a post before I ever knew my son’s name. I LOVE this verse for SO many reasons…and it truly applies to our weekend in more ways than one…

“Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young–a place near your altar, O LORD Almighty, my King and my God.” Psalm 84:3.

and finally THIRD: are you READY to see just SOME of the breakout sessions for the weekend??? Oh I’m so excited! Visit our new retreat website to see the breakout sessions I’ve posted so far–tomorrow I’ll be adding a few more…but right now I still have lots of t-shirt packaging to catch up on!!! SO…head on over the the new Created for Care website and check them out! (I’ve still got some tweaking to do and lots to add there–but we’ll be sending out sign ups for breakouts at the end of the week so I thought I’d let you all go ahead and have a sneak peak!)

There are a few things not even on their that are going to be AMAZING that we will do!!! I have meetings every night this week concerning the retreat…and I’ll be a busy bee until then–but to be a part of caring for many of YOU…it is so worth it!

Hey Andrea! I will be driving to the retreat from the most northern part of Indiana (right on the Michigan state line) and I could not be more excited!! God’s timing for this “break” is perfect! As I spent some time with the Lord this morning, I read Matthew 10:28-30…and of course, I love the last part of those verses…”So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” God is good! Can’t wait to “meet” you and all of the other moms!
