Lake Lanier Lights, Jesus loves me & THE WINNER IS…

Lake Lanier Lights

The awesome folks at Lake Lanier Lodge (THANK YOU April and Lake Lanier staff!) sent our family a ticket to come enjoy their Magical Night of Lights. So we loaded up the crew and headed out to let the kids Oooo and Ahhh over the lights.

The loved the drive-in movie of the Bethlehem journey…

Then we roasted marshmallows at the end and got ready to ride some of the fun rides!

We let everyone choose ONE ride. Isaac chose the carousel and wanted daddy and Frank to join him…

Parker chose the bumper cars (and because all our kids BARELY were tall enough to ride anything–most required a parent to ride with!)…

Laney chose the dragon roller coaster–AND she wanted Parker to join her since they were BOTH tall enough to ride!

And then Frankie ended the night on the motorcycle

Jesus Loves Me

Keeping our days in December focused on the reason we celebrate–and with children…its just so sweet. Isaac and Frank love singing Jesus Loves Me (this is Isaac’s favorite song) so thought y’all like to see them singing–AND hear their sweet and funny answers about Jesus being born in the stable (gotta love typical Frank being Frank in this one!)…You might want scroll down and turn off the music before watching…

Another fun way we talk about Christmas is with our Betty Lukens felt stories. We keep our flannel boards downstairs in our basement where we have Bible time every morning–but I wanted to bring up the Christmas story pieces so the kids could play with them during the Christmas season. AND since we aren’t big TV watchers–we are using our tv as the flannel board (1 1/4 yards of black fabric was just enough to make a quick cover and it works as a flannel board!)

I usually find the older children perched up here throughout the day reenacting the manger scene……

Waking up each morning to sit and have coffee and look at this…seeing how the children have moved the pieces around each day thinking about another way the story might have happened…

AND THE WINNER IS…

The winner of Judith’s AMAZING cookbook is…

MEGAN FAULK! Congratulations Megan! I know you are going to love it! Judith will warm your heart with her stories and I’m sure whoever you give this too will be so thrilled with her recipes! And that’s it folks! Hope you all have an amazing weekend!

On a quick update note–I’ve had several precious blog readers email me just to let us know they have been praying for us! (Thank you!) I’ve also had a few ask what our latest adoption status now with my health craziness. We truly appreciate your concern and wanting to support our family! Right now, I’m spending each week visiting different doctors and we are still in the waters of trying to figure out what the future has–and truthfully…we are taking each moment day by day. I had more testing down last week with infectious disease, and we are still waiting on those results. This doctor did say she recommended we wait a year before even considering adding to our family, so we’ll see. We’re taking in wise counsel and also resting in just wanting mommy to be 100% mommy. I’m in month 2 of Lyme treatment–and I have good days and then really tired days…but we’re hoping this time next year I’m 100% healed and we can go from there! All that being said–really, we don’t know much other than we are enjoying the moment, taking things as they come and placing everything in God’s hands and waiting on Him! There isn’t ONE gift under our tree…because truthfully–we haven’t thought about it and it hasn’t been a focus. Richard IS taking me out for my birthday on Monday (I’LL BE 35!!!)–and maybe we get a few things accomplished then! Truly, I’m so thankful for those of you who read and love our family–and who continue to cheer us on no matter what might come our way. Thank you for those of you who have prayed with us along our roller coasters, mountains and valleys–and you all truly bring me so much joy in your emails, comments and notes of encouragement!

Blessings to you this weekend!

Andrea
