Happy 1 Year Gotcha Day Isaac! {A year in our arms…}

I can’t believe TODAY–June 27th–marks ONE YEAR since I first held our sweet boy in my arms. This Saturday, July 2nd–will be the day Isaac came home and met his daddy and siblings for the first time…and I can’t wait to celebrate!!! This Wednesday is our re-adoption day where Isaac will officially be readopted in the states and become a U.S. citizen. SUCH a week of milestones for our sweet boy.

So much growth has happened in our year with our sweet boy. A year ago today–he couldn’t roll over, sit and certainly no where near crawling or walking. He was just about to turn 1 year. Here is our video of our journey to bring him home as we celebrate year gone by…

Oh our sweet boy has changed so much!

He started bearing his weight around 14 months and we were SO proud of him! He was getting stronger by the day!

At 16 months he could PULL UP…getting so strong!

By the time Isaac was 18 months–we were all determined to get our boy to WALK. BUT we have to give credit where credit is DUE. NO ONE encouraged him more than his big brother Frankie baby. Frank was DETERMINED to help Isaac thrive every step of the way–literally. He would daily help Isaac walk–and he was SO PROUD of Isaac when he would hold on to his hands and practice. Not only was Isaac growing and getting stronger–but Frank’s character was being shaped…such a beautiful picture of true brotherhood…

Next thing we knew–we crazily bought a dog (Rosie!)…who turned out to be the ONLY thing that motivated Isaac to take steps! We were all SO EXCITED to see this…our boy was THRIVING…

NOW…our next task is JUMPIN and he is WELL on his way!

Our year has been full of milestones we were unsure when or if we’d see, covered completely in God’s grace and miracles—and we were challenged to pray about bringing home another child…and we have now only grown in number but grown in our faith as we have understood more deeply what God can do through the miracle of adoption. This has been a year of many sleepless nights but nights I will also cherish as we watched firsthand healing take place and our son not only come home physically–but come home in his heart as well. God has been SO GOOD TO US! Glory be and honor to HIS name! We celebrate His goodness and having our sweet son with us ONE YEAR TODAY!!!!!!!!!!

Happy 1 year gotcha day to all those who became family that day with us…we love you all with our whole hearts and how thankful we are to have experienced this beautiful miracle moment with all of you…

How thankful I am to my mom and sister who traveled with me while Richard stayed home with our other sweet ones…

And the journey with you began! We love you Isaac Temesgen!!!!

May you all have a blessed Monday and week ahead!!!!

XOXO,

Andrea

Tears come flooding back….remembering that first post when you shared about your little boy….. Remembering pleading with God on your behalf to work in his life, to save him, to heal him, to help him to have such a testimony as to blow the world away for HIM! Just thinking about it brings back memories of all the HUGE things God has done. The love I know that has brought about healing even in those very tough moments I KNOW you have faced over and over and over. I am filled to overflowing with emotions for you…..oh the goodness of God never ceases to amaze me!!!

LOOOOVVVEEEEEE seeing how God has used your family for HIM! PRAYING still as God brings you another child to raise for HIM!

YIPEEE JESUS!! You stepped out knowing God can….and God HAS! Nothing more beautiful than that 🙂
