That’s my kind of craft. Wonder if there is a Hobby Lobby in Hong Kong?

Renea - March 10, 2010 - 9:12 am

I eyeballed the soap crafts last time I was there, but never bought it thinking it too much of a pain. But after seeing your easy ‘how-to’ I think I’ll pick me up some Easter crafts! ๐Ÿ˜‰ My son would love doing this too. I make a trip to the big city tomorrow so I’ll have to make a point to hit the Hobby! Since it’s a 4-hour round trip we don’t get out often! LOL And I’m lovin’ my new boy! His face is just beautiful. I’ve told lots of friends and family that our family is growing!

Shannon - March 10, 2010 - 12:11 pm

yay for 5 more kids sponsered!! I did a marathon reading yesterday and caught up….feels good and I’m so thankful for this reading. My womens’ bible study is doing Matthew and it’s so nice to be getting fresh perspective on the old testament to help with the historical/cultural stuff while reading the new. Congratulations on the new numbers too!

Dawn - March 10, 2010 - 2:52 pm

We love making soap- great gift, and pretty easy too. There are soo many molds scents 7 colors ๐Ÿ™‚ LOVE your passion that you share through your blog! We love Hobby Lobby too!

This is fabulous ! Shockley was apart of the MLK 25 commemorative anniversary this past year. I look forward to sharing this with my family. No blog…put Wiphan on my facebook…hopefully, it will expose more people. Still not sure how all this works…but. My King does ! and He will put the right hearts on this…I am hoping our family considers sponsoring a child as their Easter gift to Christ. Is there any specific name or connection that is made through this?

Kim - March 9, 2010 - 8:49 am

AMEN SISTER … THAT’S MY KING!
I love it. And feel very challenged by your memorization of Dr. Lockridge’s speech! And I didn’t remember you spent time in China after graduation. We have got to meet and compare stories!
So excited about your new numbers. Love, love, love how you found such perfect verses to mark this special day.
Love & Blessings from Hong Kong,
Kim

I love that video clip and speech! I think this is something I will challenge my daughter to do! She is graduating this year from high school. In just a few short months…. in those same few months I’ll look forward to celebrating your referral! ๐Ÿ™‚ And…. how exciting that you are traveling in May!!!! I sent you an e-mail! Hurry up girl and get back to me! This is killing me!!! LOL Praising God for your numbers today! Congratulations!

Megan - March 9, 2010 - 11:57 am

Yay! I like the numbers, seems there has been some movement! I still need to post about wiphan, but I will!

Charisa - March 9, 2010 - 12:45 pm

Hey! I’ve always loved That’s My King! They did it at a Beth Moore conference while everyone was just waiting…it was so cool that about halfway through the whole entire colliseum was engaged and shouting and praising along with it! It was awesome! Hope you guys are doing well! I for one am so thankful for the son!

Charisa - March 9, 2010 - 12:45 pm

I know I don’t have a big following but I still posted…even if just one person feels moved….yay! I’m praying sponsorship for these babes by the end of the week~He can make it happen!

Elle J - March 8, 2010 - 2:11 am

Contest or no contest ~ a great post to nudge us to talk about this very real happening in our world. My post will be up soon. Praying for the calling of many.

Renea - March 8, 2010 - 7:43 am

Awesome stuff girlfriend!!! I don’t care if I win or not (even though that is an awesome shirt!), the children and widows are the important goal here! I’m going to post on my personal blog and our adoption advocacy blog (promoting sponsorship not adoption of course) ๐Ÿ˜‰ and our facebook pages! ๐Ÿ™‚ Go WIPHAN!! you rock girl! I can tell from personal experience and the girl we sponsor in Haiti, it’s magical to see what having a sponsor does for a child in need. It’s almost like being adopted for them. Their lives change from the possibilities given to them and it’s amazing to see!!!

Shannon - March 8, 2010 - 9:53 am

I’m sharing on my blog! Like Ellie said, contest or no contest … I’m glad to do what I can to spread the word. Wiphan and our sponsor child have been heavy on my heart this weekend. I need to talk to you about some stuff soon, my friend!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Megan - March 8, 2010 - 12:52 pm

I’m off to our next homestudy interview, so I don’t have time right now…but I will when I get home. I agree…contest or no contest this is important! I’ll be back!

julie@Flitterbugs - March 8, 2010 - 3:40 pm

I’ve shared about you on facebook…gets the word out to more! I love that you care for the orphan…not “just” the precious children. Waiting on my shirt to arrive…I think it is the BEST advertising!

Toby & Dress-Up Drawings {& Bible Study}

Natali - March 7, 2010 - 10:34 pm

Africa, India & the budget

FIRST…Africa:). No new numbers…our agency was quite busy today. SO…our new numbers will come on Monday. Crazy thing–I’m so cool with that. We’re not in single digits…knowing today or Monday doesn’t change anything. HEY…has someone out there been praying for me?! Well, God sure is good because I’m so at peace with where we are—and […]

what a trooper you are for cutting your own hair…i think your hair looks great! good job!

Shannon - March 6, 2010 - 12:02 am

I’m sooo impressed with the haircut! I love that the last few pictures of Parker he’s been in full costume!

admin - March 6, 2010 - 12:08 am

That’s my boy Shannon…we even had a babysitter who had a shirt monogrammed for him that says “Lil Hero” because this is SO him!!!!!!!

Megan - March 6, 2010 - 1:29 am

Oh yes. The budget. I think we are implimenting a newer, stricter one each month b/c I’m so bad at it. Okay not THAT bad. BUt I hate it that’s for sure. You know I’m doing good when I’m complaining about having nothing to wear. It’s not really that I have nothing to wear, its just that I don’t like my options anymore! =) But hearing about you cutting your own hair made me want to cry (although hubby walking in to the house to Me: scissors in hand, surrounded by hair is a common occurance)! I’m a hairstylist (retired? SAHM now) and I hate to hear about ameteurs (no offense, haha) cutting their own hair. But I have to admit it doesn’t look bad by any means. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Shhh…don’t tell anyone though! I don’t want the word to spread about at-home-stylists! =)

Kim - March 6, 2010 - 8:18 am

Oh, Andrea…your hair looks great. I have been cutting mine for quite some time and even *sigh* went to the box color. 5dollar dinners (dot) com has been a huge help for us and she cooks very healthy. If you were on my fb you could see my pictures of dinners for a family of 5 in the 3.00 – 5.00 range for the entire meal. I must say your ham dinner looked amazing but I knew I could not get it to come in under 5.00. So that will be a special occasion meal for sure!

Amy Kirk - March 6, 2010 - 8:24 am

Thank you, Andrea, for stopping by our blog and leaving your words of encouragement. This blogging thing is so new to me, but what fun! I have loved reading about your journey for a few months now, and it is so great to read others stories who are a bit further down on the adoption path. On another note- We made many sets of your valentine cookies and gave them to our kiddo’s “Prayer Parents” this year for their valentine’s and they loved them! Thanks for sharing great ideas. I was also wondering how did you make your Lent tree? I’m a visual learner and I was hoping to see how you made your tree to hang all the ornaments. Just had to ask! It will be fun to watch your journey continue to unfold.
God’s grace to you,
Amy

Jenny - March 6, 2010 - 8:34 am

Wow! I think you did a great job with your hair. That would’ve ended in a disaster if I had tried that. Me, scissors, and hair are not a good combination. But, you look great! And the adoption thing definitely holds you accountable to living on a stricter budget. Our 10 year anniversary is coming up and for years we had big dreams of going to Hawaii or something, but now that we’re adopting again, I think we might be heading to Chicago or something instead. Thankful that the Lord uses adoption to refine my heart in so many areas….including stewardship. ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a great weekend!

Natali - March 6, 2010 - 11:24 am

I love the whole lent tree thing! What an awesome way to teach kids!

melissa - March 6, 2010 - 4:45 pm

Oh, I think your hair looks great! I cut my hair to save money to a couple of months ago. All the kids were screaming and I just decided to wack my hair off so I could have some organization to my life! I wasn’t so straight, but my mom helped me straighten up when I saw her the next week. I also cute Henry’s hair! Yes, it’s a bowl cut, but that is an Alabama thing. I wish I could highlight my hair myself, but it never turns out right. I am always trying to do things myself. Have a good weekend!!

Amy @ Filled With Praise - March 6, 2010 - 7:45 pm

I think your hair looks great. Next time you are in town, I will have you cut mine:)

Love all the pics. Thank you so much for the prayers and kindness. Much love,
Amy
