Win a FREE registration fee to the JANUARY Created for Care retreat!

A little shout out for the Cookman crew! Just before Created for Care registration opened up–the Cookman family contacted me to see if they could purchase TWO spots to the Created for Care retreat. I told her she could purchase how ever many she wanted as long as she bought them before the retreat sold […]

Are you SERIOUS?!?! Andrea! I had ZERO idea you were gonna do an entire POST on this…on us. I wouldn’t have expected more than just a little line at the end of one of yours just so people know and don’t miss out on the giveaway. I never in my wildest dreams imagined THIS. The response has been so wonderful! I’m still going to send you an email, but I just had to say THANK YOU publicly. And I so HOPE you have a picture of your girl by January because then I’ll get to see her face AND you in person! Thank you for blessing us daily in so many ways.
Love,
Rory

Praise God!! This precious girl has been on my heart since I first read about her. I hope that she will know the story of all the people that have been praying for her.

Rachel - October 23, 2011 - 8:22 pm

I tried to donate but it refused my (Australian) credit card. Do you only accept US credit cards?
Thanks,
Rachel in Sydney, Australia

Rachel–I think it’s through Paypal or connected to it–so not sure why it wouldn’t process. Thank you so much for trying friend!! Please feel free to contact me next time or if there is future need for this sweet one!!!! I’m so sorry it wouldn’t process your Australian card!!!! If you would like to still send Margret a message–please contact me as we’d love to have your involvement in encouraging her!

Ok, so it’s 2am and I just couldn’t sleep because this little one has been so heavily on my heart. I have been praying day & night for God to surprise everyone who thinks that there may be no hope in this situation by providing everything she needs for surgery. Just happened to check your blog & surprise, once again God makes the impossible possible!!! Praying for amazing surgeons and a miraculous recovery! God is going to use this little one to speak to the hearts of many!

Nina Shields - October 24, 2011 - 11:44 am

Andrea, thank you for letting all of us know of this great need. Praying for Margaret’s surgery, well being, for her peace, reassurance and future! Lord, take care of this precious child.

Rory - October 24, 2011 - 11:50 am

Awesome!! Wow, what a fast response! I am just bummed I didn’t get in on it in time! God bless that little Margret, and God bless your family as you keep expanding your borders. Oh, and P.S. I love the blog background update.
Love,
Rory

WOW! WOW! WOW! I haven’t done any blog-reading or much Facebooking in the past week or so so totally missed this project! Margret has been on my heart for months. Praising God for a diagnosis and funding for surgery! Praying for wise doctors, complete healing, and JOY and HOPE for precious Margret.

half way there!!! {and a few fun pictures from our day}

We are hoping to raise $2,000 for Margret’s surgery by next week–and just after posting the need yesterday…we are HALF WAY THERE! (Yes!!! Can you believe it??!!! $1,000 has been raised in ONE night!) Sooooo exciting! One of my Zambia trip teammates just sent me this precious picture of Margret. She is just so precious…and […]

Rachel - October 24, 2011 - 11:52 am

Had SO much fun! I have to say the “SMOREing” it up was definitely the highlight for me 🙂 xoxo. And WOW- cant believe its been a year!

When It Takes a Village {A chance of a lifetime…to save someone else’s}

The easy thing would be to look away…say “that’s so sad”…and I’ll pray for her. Part of my heart was tempted to just do that. After all, in a world full of problems–some times it feels like that is the only thing I can do. But this time…it’s different. It was just minutes before class […]

Literally … tears. Thank you, Andrea. xoxo

Sandi Herring - October 22, 2011 - 1:27 am

If 50 families sacrifice eating out ONE night & donate instead then her surgery will be covered! Praying for hearts to open and for blessings on everyone who lives out their faith by helping Margret. This is a situation where it is impossible to say no. Praying for the chance of a new life, for love, acceptance & healing for this child of God. Luke 8:50 Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”

Because we were BOTH created for His care…

There were so many things I took away from the last Created for Care momma’s retreat (a retreat designed for adoption moms–but you do NOT have to be an adoption mom to come!), but one thing that has blessed me most–is learning to live in His gift of coming to Him WITH my children. One […]

Andrea, this post was SO good for me! Made me EXCITED to get the kiddos to joint WITH me at the Lords altar. So often I feel like I have to be there first to lead them there, but in reality…they can lead US there so many times! As moms I feel like often we keep looking and looking ahead (even just 20 minutes ahead!) to look for that “alone” time to pour out our heart before the Lord. Then, we are missing the present moments. THANK YOU for this! 🙂

Melissa - October 20, 2011 - 7:56 am

I love this! This post was a wonderful way to start MY day! You should write a book! I’d definitely buy it! 🙂

Sandi Herring - October 20, 2011 - 11:02 am

I just bought a T-shirt! I have felt called to adopt from China for a year & a half now, but hubby not ready so I have focused my energy on families in need & orphans in Africa. Yet the pull to China is stronger than anything I have ever felt & goes HEART deep, that there will be a child there who needs us, waiting. A child who needs surgery…it just tears at my soul. I keep trying to let it go but the reminders are everywhere & pop up in the strangest circumstances. I will be praying day & night for this family…to God be the Glory…

Elle J - October 20, 2011 - 11:03 am

LOL – Even Rosie “Got Down…” Your kiddos are adorable with some fine dance moves. A kid-fave song in our household too.

Christy - October 20, 2011 - 1:20 pm

yay, I can post on your blog again. Left you a FB comment about what a blessing this blog post was to me this morning. Then I went to buy my shirt and realized this family lives very close to me and the dad was a former youth pastor of mine. What a small world and once again you are a blessing by connecting me to them and their story!!!! How amazing is our God!

leslie - October 20, 2011 - 3:39 pm

I ordered my t-shirt yesterday. Love the design. Can’t wait to hear the story.

rebekah - October 20, 2011 - 7:47 pm

Bought my shirt yesterday. Couldn’t make that purchase fast enough;) !!!!!!

Robyn Beall - November 2, 2011 - 12:17 pm

I finally got around to ordering this awesome shirt today! Being a “China” momma, I am thrilled to have this shirt to wear! It’s also so fun to be able to help out another family in their adoption journey!
So glad to hear the Wiphan Cookbooks are coming available! I’ve so been wanting to purchase one and buy one for my sweetest friend!
Have a blessed day!
