We got a schnauzer poodle because he doesn’t shed when we found out my youngest & I were allergic to dogs. We found wonderful, loving homes for my long-haired lab & part German shepherd which broke my heart initially but was the best decision. We cordoned off an area inside with a pretty decorative iron gate which he loves & trained the dog to only go in living room & never in bedrooms. It has worked well & no more monthly MD visits! Oh Andrea, I will pray for sweet Issac’s hearing and for your allergies. That is SO difficult. I don’t know what I would do. I hope the shots and vacuuming help! At least you know the potential cause of all of your vision issues- that is a blessing. But I really hope you can manage through the shots. Hang in there! it is just better to not eat out since there aren’t many options! we do chipotle when we do eat out. the new plum street cafe on canton street has all homemade food and i think uses “real” and possibly organic ingredients. not open for dinner. we need to hang out soon! I also love Chipotle, but they have a lot of sodium in their food. A friend who used to manage one informed me how much salt they add to their ingredients:( Maybe a better way of looking at it if you don’t have organic eateries nearby (we have mostly local places, nothing you would have in Atlanta) is how you can do your prep work once a week and have a simple menu plan to follow to make the week nights easier to manage. Crock pot is my best friend in menu planning:) Oh girl…I’ve got our weekly organic meal planning down to a science:). I create our meal plan and shop for everything on the weekend for the week ahead. I post our menu on the frig and I highlight days there will be enough to either invite a family over or bake in two dishes to freeze one–but we usually have a family over for that day:). Moes has grass-fed beef and free range chicken and has become my favorite place to go since discovering this (and kids can eat free on Sunday’s) A really great book is “The Truth About Beauty” by Kat James. This book started me on my journey to eat naturally and locally, cut out the carbs and sugar (but taught me I could still eat things I like by making them myself) and gave me an overall awareness for what I put in my body and feed my family. Lots of other things I’ve learned over the last 3 years but I don’t want to leave you a page long comment! Praying for you as you trouble shoot and navigate around all the “healthy” things out there. <3 We try Thai & higher end Japanese Hibachi restaurants which tend to be the closest to a preservative free meat option. For pts with chronic inflammation we recommend honey & fresh fruit without skin when they are getting worse because the body recognizes & metabolizes it well. We say no Agave because it metabolizes like high fructose corn syrup, raises uric acid, triglycerides & can inflame the liver which works to rid your body of toxins. Anything in moderation is ok but if you are having trouble it may help to limit sugar substitutes for a little while-its definitely no fun if you have a sweet tooth but it will help. We will be praying daily for CLEAR vision, MIRACULOUS HEALING, LOTS OF ENERGY for you! For a great casual meal I really like ZPizza. They use organic as much as possible…have vegan and gluten free options…and their meat options are low fat, nitrate, MSG and preservative free. The have great salads too. Another great option is Woodfire Grill. They support local, sustainable, organic agriculture as well as responsible animal stewardship and sustainable fishing practices. The menu changes daily based on the best available product and the staff knows their stuff so they can help you make the best choices. Coming from a fellow Lyme challenged individual I know how important it is to pay attention to what does and DOES NOT go into your body. Good luck on the organic eateries but maybe date night can take on an adventure as well– interesting picnics in different parks? Any parks that offer free concerts…. Just some thoughts but you are much more creative than I am so get crazy! Hi Andrea, So sorry to hear how sick you have been. This comment is completely off topic of your restaurant request. I just wanted to pass along some info that might help you with the Candida, and possibly some of your other ailments. When I was younger(20 years ago), I suffered terribly with ulcerative colitis. I tried tons of things to help, but I kept getting sicker and sicker, after my last hospitalization my mom found Kambucha tea. A true lifesafer for me. I know that my disease is completely unrelated to yours, but this kambucha mushroom has such incredible healing properties that it might be able to help you. It is an incredible probiotic and helps to heal the gut, so this is why I think it might help you with your candida. Do a google search for it and you will be able to see the incredible stuff that this 100% natural, and organic mushroom does. It helped me, and I have even heard of someone who’s eyesight improved after drinking this. When I was big into the Maker’s Diet (I still try to do it, but we’re not as strict), Flying Biscuit was the only place we ate out. Just don’t eat the biscuits or the bread. The rest is totally healthy and organic. My fav is the fried egg salad. It is hard and I think most of these have been mentioned – Chipotle, Zpizza up 400, Flying Biscuit and our new favorite Farm Burger (we go to the Buckhead location).
