I am also in the same place as you, counting the cost the second time around. We adopted a girl from China in 2009 and are now starting an adoption to Uganda for a boy. I am so much more aware of all the difficulties than can arise. Thank you for sharing! wish I could go to ALL the breakout sessions! How will I ever choose??? oh the dilemna! haha We recently had to count the costs of our adoption plans and found the cost too high. I have a hard time accepting that it’s okay–even right–to say “no” to adopting this child we had hoped was to be our son. This video is another encouraging confirmation that we made the right decision for our family at this time–even if it breaks our heart! So glad I found this tonight. Thanks! Hi Andrea, I have thought for ages that I wanted to let you know how your blog – well, YOU – have encouraged me so much in the Lord. Especially in regards to adoption. You have made me realise so much what I wasn’t really seeing about so many little ones and their plight, and you have been as real as you can in cyberspace about the difficulties you’ve all had. Anyway, I wanted to encourage you tonight that it’s through reading your blog (rarely commenting tho’ sorry!) that DH and I have prayed about and are now seeking to add to our family through adoption too. Reminds me of the Southern Baptist church I grew up in. sometimes I really miss the hymns, pews, and potlucks. Andrea!!! LOVE the “stache”… Justis has done this exact same thing to me twice!!! Last Christmas he came downstairs at his parents with a “stache” and I told him I would not leave the house with him until he shaved it off! (: Glad I am not the only one with a “not so right” hubby! (: I thought that all you adoptive parents out there would like to know that there is a soon-to-be show on Disney Chanel featuring 2 white parents with 1 bio kid and 3 adopted (One from India, One from Africa, and one from somewhere else) Isn’t that Awesome? Oh yeah- the show is called “Jessie” Haha! I am cracking up about the “stache”! 🙂 You are so right– he does look like Kip! Love that movie! I know what you mean about your grandfather. I think all the time about how I wish my grandparents could have met my children and how much they would have loved them. I miss one my grandmothers– who R is named after– every day… Funny:)….And your children are too cute! Just registered and I am so excited. I missed out last year and I vowed I wouldn’t let it happen again this year. I am looking forward to meeting you in person. We adopted our daughter, Mia, from China last summer. I am so excited for you and what God has waiting for you in China… 🙂 I am going to send you a FB friend request and send a Gotcha pic too… Can’t wait for January!
