They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint….Proverbs 4:11-1311 I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. 12 When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble!!!! AMEN! (Praying for Ethiopia & for the children!)

Bobi Bobbitt - March 13, 2011 - 11:23 pm

LOVE everything you said, Andrea! We must interlock hands and fight for the well being of the Ethiopian children! In a world where there is so much evil, it is heart warming to see so many people banding together and praying that this policy WILL NOT come to pass! I have to be honest, I am very worried, but I am clinging to what I know is true, God loves adoption and I know that He will be glorified through this trial so many of us are facing!

Love - March 14, 2011 - 3:01 pm

A match made in heaven…

I thought I’d mix things up a bit and write about something I don’t write about enough…personal things to my heart…like…my MARRIAGE! I mean, the crazy at our house is pretty crazy and there’s ALWAYS something fun to write about–but our crazy did START first with just 2. And a few nights ago I caught […]

Such a great story!!

Alison - March 11, 2011 - 4:41 pm

LOVE this!! Seriously, I have told Jody so many times, “When we are old and gray, sitting at Chick-fil-a eating lunch together, I want to be able to look back at our lives and have no regrets! I want to know that we said YES to whatever God was calling us to!” Ya’ll have a great weekend!!!!

Lara - March 11, 2011 - 4:47 pm

Well, it’s good to know you’re a member of the Former Middle School English Teacher Club. Now THAT’S where the crazy’s at!!

Christina - March 11, 2011 - 5:55 pm

Love that you shared this story! I’ve been thinking an awful lot lately about the beginnings of my marriage and the oh so much wonder it has been in the journey! Wonderful husbands are pretty much just rockin’ awesome and I’m SOOO thankful for mine! It’s great to hear other wives proclaim how SOOOO thankful they are for theirs as well. I enjoyed this read this Friday afternoon while I’m at home waiting on my man to arrive. I think we might dance before dinner! Maybe a little during dinner just to see how long it takes for the kids to join us! 🙂

Kristen - March 11, 2011 - 8:05 pm

Oh Andrea. How wonderful. It is so fun to read so much detail and to see a piece of your heart. Thanks for sharing about your beautiful marriage and the pictures to ‘prove it’ (haha). What a joy! The Lord has really blessed your marriage!!
–Kristen.

Leslie Word - March 11, 2011 - 10:05 pm

Love this and love you guys. I can’t believe it’s already been eight years. I can still remember sitting at Panera with you, six months after the wedding, in disbelief, demanding proof from your doctor that you REALLY did have a bun in the oven 🙂

Nikki - March 12, 2011 - 12:59 am

We went to Banff on our honeymoon, too! Just made me smile… 🙂

Christy - March 12, 2011 - 7:20 am

That is too cute! My hubby tried to get me to go out with him several times with me turning him down too!!! Praise the Lord for our husbands and all these fun memories He’s given us!

Amanda - March 12, 2011 - 7:43 am

Love your sweet story. And I share your utter and complete fear of roaches. UGH!

Erin Crenshaw - March 12, 2011 - 9:01 am

So so precious, Andrea!! I love it!

GAP - March 12, 2011 - 10:26 am

If you were to stop and create a story board, like they put together for scenes in movies, you would know beyond any shadow of a doubt, that God went to a great deal of trouble to put the two of you together with a perfection and precision (both timing and pairing) that only the most pathetic of cynics could ignore. The seemingly unrelated paths and sequence of events were timed with a perfection that is beyond any human’s capability. And to think, He does this time and again, in so many ways, and all we have to do is be in the right frame of mind to accept His gentle (and sometimes not so gentle 😉 nudges along the way.

To make you smile {And a reminder of HOPE through disappointment}

Okay–first…wanna see what life is REALLY like at our house?! I mean, we aren’t right by any means–but we sure have fun. I couldn’t find my little Flip video there for a bit but I’ve taken snippets of life here lately–and these are just funny things I always want to remember… We built a playset […]

Thank you for letting God speak through you today… you know I needed it! -Nikki

Lara - March 10, 2011 - 8:48 am

Love all that crazy! I have an old family hashbrown caserole recipe that my family calls “funeral potatoes” because at any funeral it is a guarantee that those potatoes will be served! And you are BRAVE giving up the tube. My 4 year old is a bit of a cartoon junkie and it can be a real fight to keep the cartoons to minimum.

emily v - March 10, 2011 - 8:52 am

Great word Andrea! He is the author of all HOPE! As I have been praying for and over the situation, I too have been reminded that God is sovereign over this…There is such peace in that!

Carrie - March 10, 2011 - 10:19 am

Thank you so much for this post! How I needed to be reminded of those truths about hope!!

Missy - March 10, 2011 - 12:36 pm

Thank you so much for listening to the Lord and sharing these words from God. They fill my heart with hope and encouragement during this time. -Missy

Alison - March 10, 2011 - 1:38 pm

Oh, Andrea! I love this post! So cool b/c those truths are exactly what God has been teaching me through this time…I have to surrender everything to Hi. Even my daughter!! I love her so much, but I love HIM more and want Him to be glorified on every step of our journey to Caroline Faith!

Alison - March 10, 2011 - 1:38 pm

Meant to write…surrender everything to Him!!! 🙂

Jill - March 10, 2011 - 5:32 pm

What great truth…I needed to hear this today! I’m so thankful we serve a God who works out everything for HIS glory…even in the middle of a painful journey, when we don’t understand, He is working out His perfect plan and allows us the opportunity to experience Him in a rich way through it all!

Kirsten Gregoire - March 10, 2011 - 11:55 pm

Thank you so much for your insight and your encouragement through this verse. We only JUST began the adoption process a few short weeks ago, but strangely have a weird peace about all that is going on. We know God is bigger than our circumstances and that nothing that is happening right now is a surprise to Him!!!

Caytie Hirschberg - March 11, 2011 - 12:03 am

What a beautiful reminder! For He is able to do more then we could possibly imagine! Our trust should be completely in Him and nothing else! thank you for sharing this message and reminding us of our need to trust in Him in all things!

love ITY’s happy visit! enjoyed the videos of your kiddos…soo cute:)

Megan - March 11, 2011 - 2:44 am

Thank you SO much for this….I needed to hear/read these words today. You often find those bits in scripture that I seem to miss and I LOVE reading what you get out of it. This has been a bleak week, but I am so HOPEFUL that things will all work out. There have been too many miracles in our little T’s story already that I believe He can and WILL knock my socks off once again.

Mama Zen - March 11, 2011 - 1:26 pm

This is so uplifting! Thank you!

Ash Wednesday…our journey begins to the cross…today

Today–is Ash Wednesday. I woke up this morning…fixed my coffee…my heart was heavy. I thought about the thousands of little ones in Ethiopia who may be stuck in the middle of a new Ethiopian MOWA policy. I began to ask Him, “What is your purpose and will here Lord? What is Your heart?” Do not […]

Thank you for the encouragement. Just what this weary mama needed this morning.

Jen - March 9, 2011 - 9:57 am

Beautiful! Words I so need to hear today.

Thank you,

Jen

Staci - March 9, 2011 - 10:25 am

Thank you, Andrea. I, too, needed to read your words of wisdom this morning. Thank you for making time to encourage me (as well as many others, I’m sure).

Jenn Bachman - March 9, 2011 - 10:38 am

Thank you for listening to God!! We are waiting for our referral and the news about what might happen in Ehtiopia was heart breaking. But I am encouraged by your post today – Do Not Worry. I have over come. I needed to hear those words – and even though God spoke them to you they were meant for our family as well. You are a blessing!!!

Erin - March 9, 2011 - 11:48 am

Andrea,
This morning through a conversation with my friend God showed me this:

For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart,
life is a continual feast.

– Proverbs 15:15

And I love the amplified version:
15All the days of the desponding and afflicted are made evil [by anxious thoughts and forebodings], but he who has a glad heart has a continual feast [regardless of circumstances].

sara - March 9, 2011 - 10:27 pm

beautiful, thank you. we accepted our referral last thursday, the day before this latest talk started. i am clinging to the fact that God is protecting my baby and all of the other children that need to come to their forever homes. thanks for your encouragement…
