I loved the story! I am a speech therapist and I am constantly thinking about how words are spelled and how they sound. I also homeschooled my daughter last year and taught her how to read and I agree with you that we should spell words how they sound! Thanks for sharing your embarrassing story…it made me smile. 🙂
For the record, I like phonics too :-). And trust me, you don’t scare me. I mean, I can barely handle Madeline’s second grade math… Somehow they’ll turn out ok. 🙂
I once spent at least 20 minutes looking for “moroccan” beans, which i could not find anywhere when i finally realized that my recipe said “one more can of beans”. haha! so i know the feeling:)
