Richard and I completed our required online adoption courses this weekend! WOO HOO! Another thing checked off our list! (12 credit hours) Between attending last weeks seminar in Franklin and the online courses I feel like I could do a power point on adoption, medical issues, transracial families, handling comments in front of my child, […]

Category Archives: Adoption MilestoneI feel like I’ve been working on our home study forever and I think it’s only been 3 weeks! BUT…I have also been working on it from sun up to sun down it feels like, so I’m thankful it’s almost knocked out! My interview was a lot of fun today…I *LOVE* our adoption consultant!!! What […] YEAH!!!! You are definitely making progress! Hey, just think this may be crazy, but when you get to the waiting stage- there is not a whole lot to do…..and you twiddle your thumbs….that is when you need the paperwork to distract you. he he he. You are doing great though to almost be done with the hs! Way to go!! I love your comment, "I'm kinda paper pregnant"~ We have submitted our application (Fri.) to Holt and waiting to be accepted to the Korea program, then we will begin the paperwork for the homestudies with Mary Kendall…I was thinking Saturday it is kinda of like waiting should I buy a pregnancy test…I don't think we will feel official either until we are on the referral list…although we talk of Annalee already like she is part of the family…we don't even know if she is born yet…adoption is so cool! Such an awesome adventure that I feel so blessed to be experiencing! Andrea! I love that you are doing this blog! Matt and I would LOVE to adopt one day, so I love following your happeings. Also, love to be able to pray for you during this awesome adventure God has you on! Maybe we can even get together next time I am in Atlanta?? I would love it! Yay! Just got the word from our adoption coordinator—my home study interview will be this Friday at 9:45am! I’m so excited…and by Friday I’ll probably be a little nervous too. I promised her I’d bring the lacking forms (aka Richard’s 16 page personal profile) to my interview…so the pressure is on honey:). I have to […] Girl….you are flying through the paperwork! I am so impressed with your tenacity. We were bogged down all summer waiting for our homestudy to get completed. What was awesome about that was the constant reminder to me that God is sovereign and it is His timing, not mine. So now that is complete and I sent the paperwork to Immigration last week…..YEAH. All's grace, Yep, we usually take our 7 with us because we homeschool on all of our paper chasing you should see the looks we get! he he he….especially when you ask for your fingerprints to be done so you can adopt another child. The eyes really get big! But Monday as we get our state certification in Baton Rouge (part of your dossier to come:) we get to leave them with a sitter. They will have loads of fun!!! And less squirming. How did I miss this, Andrea?!?!? I'm so happy for you!! A friend of mine (here in Atlanta) just brought her little girl home from Ethiopia! Had a free night to blog hop and enjoyed yours. Hope you will stop by new Christmas blog …There is a great giveaway that I will draw for on Oct 1st and all you need to do to enter is comment. Hope you have a great weekend. yayyy, oh i remember those days of paper chasing…it will be over before you know..it is a great feeling when you are finally on the wait list…so excited for you, kj ![]() …for our home study is almost over! WHEW! Gotta pick up my 911 history list that will be ready on Friday and then just wait for the FBI clearance from today’s mailing to come in. Here was the final mail off for the paper chase required for our home study…I’m hoping the colorful 11×14 envelope […] I just LOVE the envelope! How much fun do you think the FBI had opening it! You know they will let out a good laugh when they see it! Yep. I’ve officially been labeled. By my husband:). Since we filled out our application to adopt from Ethiopia with AGCI, I have been a complete nut. I watch you tube videos on Ethiopian adoptions and cry my eyes out. I have gone from blog to blog to blog to blog—reading about other families in the […] Love the new label. :o) he is 3 and a half months old- can't believe I left out! 🙂 He will be 6 and 1/2 to 7 months old when we meet him. Hey, you are not crazy!!! I did the same thing last year….and now that we are in the process again- I have flown through everything possibl including all the paperwork- again! I think it is a nesting thing- like mothers know they are getting pregnant (paper pregnant) and they whiz through it…then they begin the physical nesting of preparing the room, clothes, etc. I totally adore your Christmas card from last year!!!! WOW- totally cute and completely wonderful!!!! Have fun chasing papers 🙂 It's all for your precious one 🙂 you are adorable! love you! Just remember when you hit bumps in the road that it is all for a reason. God has the perfect child in mind for you and some times we have to hit snags to be ready at the same time that our child is. I know what you mean by being a home study freak. I was the exact same way! We finished our home study and dossier in 8 weeks, which I believe is pretty fast! I just couldnt stop working on it until everything was done! now we are 4 1/2 months into our adoption and already #3 if not #2 on the boys list!!! Good luck with all of your paperwork! It is so exciting!!!! I LOVE the Christmas card!!! adorable!!!!! |
