I am scrambling this evening – but saw you posted and had to check it out. Only had time to scroll through pictures – will come back tomorrow to read. =) But wanted to say that the coaster is my FAVORITE verse as it was the blessing my Pastor spoke to me when I was baptized. LOVE IT!! Rings so true to me. I will be jumping over to purchase. =) Thanks for the link!!!

Traci - May 19, 2011 - 2:03 am

A little olive oil will take those tattoos right off! Been following your blog for a while now. Your babies are gorgeous! Thank you for always being so encouraging and positive!
God bless!

Becca - May 19, 2011 - 2:39 am

I’ve just started reading your blog, and I love hearing about your kiddos (and your “paper” pregnancy, with one on the way). Thanks for sharing your heart.

On a practical note, fingernail polish remover should take off the wretched tattoo. My kids love them, and grandma loves to help them out, but they drive me absolutely crazy. If you wait for the tattoo to wear off, Frank may be starting kindergarten with Mater on his hand…

Shelly Roberts - May 19, 2011 - 8:09 am

Soooo fun getting to see a snapshot of your afternoon! Didn’t know they made such straws. Wow. My boys would have been all over those when they were little. 🙂

Loved hearing about the fund raising idea! I can SO appreciate this mom’s efforts. We did massive assembly lines during our 2nd daughter’s adoption with card making. Thousands upon thousands of cards were made and we ended up raising about $10,000 that way over the year. It was an INSANE amount of work and sooooooooo worth it for our precious wee-one to have a family.

kim zawodzinski - May 19, 2011 - 8:36 am

Baby oil is another way to take off temporary tatoos.

Joy Kinard - May 19, 2011 - 8:43 am

Use rubbing alcohol on the tattoo. It will come right off. I love your little family! I read your blog all the time, but rarely leave you a comment. I hate when people don’t leave me comments, so sorry about that! I was thinking about your sweet family just the other day. We have a sweet foster baby girl that we are praying God allows us to adopt. She is African American and we are white. I was getting myself in a tizzy about if she will fit in with her african-american peers, who she will marry, etc…. And then it occured to me that I could PRAY that God will surround her with other children just like her! Black babies with white parents! So… I got busy with the praying. I can not wait to see what God does about it!

Debb - May 19, 2011 - 1:09 pm

Oh, your kiddos just make me smile! You could be my neighbor any day! 😉

Alison - May 19, 2011 - 1:56 pm

Love the cute pics! And I was looking for some coasters the other day…will go order some from Sarah!!!

Sandi - May 20, 2011 - 2:31 pm

Thank you for letting us know about Sarah! Hoping one day it will be us. Until then it just makes my heart happy to support other families who are giving one more child a loving family!!!! I’m thinkin’ those coaster sets will make some lovely presents. I love gifts with “a conscience”, makes them that much more special!

Erin Crenshaw - May 22, 2011 - 9:37 pm

Andrea!!!! I just caught up on the last couple of months!!!! I am SO EXCITED for you guys! What a sweet story about how God led you to your baby girl in China!! Praying for you guys!!

Brittany - May 26, 2011 - 11:22 pm

I’m from KY too!! Your family is beautiful and I LOVE your blog! We are praying through an adoption and can’t wait to take the first step:)

Hey!, I was SO excited to see your name on this the other day. 🙂 We’re “planning” to come early so I can attend this special afternoon event. Would love to connect with you. Blessings!, Shelly

Nicole - March 16, 2011 - 9:25 am

Hey there!! I have followed your blog via Kristi Johnson for a long time…I comment from time to time, but mostly just love reading your posts. I have a heart for the orphan…I am not sure if that will lead my husband and I to adoption or if we will just continue to donate to the cause–but I pray that all works out how HE has planned. But today–your post sparked something in my brain…you are coming to Louisville, KY!! That is where I live and we attend Southeast Christian Church!! How very cool—such a very small world. I am sure you already have a room, etc–but know if you need anything at all there are friendly faces in the area–also Kristi’s little sister, Karson, (my college roommate) also lives here now too!!

Lara - March 16, 2011 - 10:04 am

Ohhhhhh I wish I was going!! I’ll either be in Africa or broke from saving to go to Africa.

A Date with God… {Creative Quiet Time at Home}

Many of you moms came to the Created for Care mommy retreat and got to experience a sweet hour created just for you to have a ‘date with God’…to spend time with Him–praying, reading scripture, listening, asking Him to show you His heart… My dear friend Jenni Means led this time. She is the director […]

Thank you!!! Love it! Can’t wait to try it! 🙂

Heather Kelley - February 24, 2011 - 7:45 am

Thanks for the reminder. I accidentally left my picture at the hotel, but I can still see it clearly in my head. I needed a reminder of what God taught me during that time. I’ll have to remember to do it more often.

Maria Davis - February 24, 2011 - 8:18 am

When I came home from the conference I couldn’t figure out how to use this with my kids. I am encouraged by this idea. I will be using this!

Audrey @ The Brown Brigade - February 24, 2011 - 8:37 am

What a great post! I have told many people about my “Date with God” and I truly hope that they all have an opportunity to have one of their own. It was such an awesome time for me and my relationship with HIM. Thank you for including it in the weekend.

Heather R - February 24, 2011 - 9:00 am

i very much enjoyed the date with god time. it was a spirit filled time for sure. i spent my time in the tent, with scripture, play dough and painting. God reminded me again during that time that he has asked me to be his hands. So, i made a hand with play dough. He also told me “there’s 2”, 2 children for us to adopt. I asked him if they were coming together and he told me that wasn’t important now, just keep working on getting on the waitlist. So, i painted 2 hands on the shape of africa. 2 hands i will hold one day. such a wonderful weekend for so many reasons, this was just one hour! i feel so blessed to have been able to attend.

Kristin - February 24, 2011 - 9:36 am

I just posted recently about how I despise cleaning the house, but now I put on my worship music and clean like there’s no tomorrow. I’m sure if there was a camera in the house, someone would get a good laugh. One minute I’m dancing like a nut and the next I’m crying my eyes out all the while cleaning house! And it never looked or smelled better!!

Dawn - February 24, 2011 - 11:39 am

LOVE THIS!!!! We have done a version of this with our campers before…very powerful. Now to do this with our children more often 🙂

Courtney - February 24, 2011 - 1:52 pm

i LOVE this!
this is right up my alley…strikes my heartbeat…
the “everyday” stuff CAN be the BIG stuff!

Angela - February 24, 2011 - 2:30 pm

The Date with God was seriously the best part of the retreat for me. It was exactly what I needed. It was so so beautiful and worshipful for me. The Lord has continued to speak over me things that He spoke to me that weekend. I love that I can do this with my daughter too! 🙂

Rebecca - February 24, 2011 - 3:26 pm

Thanks for reminder. Was so blessed by the “Date with God”, and so inspired by the idea that God speaks to my kids, that they have a spirit…regardless of how little they are, or whether they can communicate with words. Love this idea.

Meredith - February 25, 2011 - 5:33 pm

I loved my date with God at the retreat. I arrived a little late and ended up staying for 2 sessions. As I was leaving I told Jenni that I wished I could stay all day, and she sweetly responded, “you can stay all day if you want.” Love her! I look forward to doing this with my boys at home. It was also a reminder to me that I can worship and walk with God any time, anywhere.

MamaMimi - February 28, 2011 - 2:29 am

What a FABULOUS idea!!!!

Sara - June 23, 2012 - 4:52 pm

I love this! We call it “painting a prayer.” Each time is more powerful than I anticipate and I wonder why we don’t do it more! Let the little children come….
